FAQs

What is an Indian head massage?

Indian Head Massage is an Ayurvedic massage therapy in which the upper-back, arms, head, neck and face are massaged with the use of oils using a range of massage techniques.

What type of massage do we offer?

We offer mainly Swedish massage. Swedish massage involves long, kneading strokes combined with rhythmic tapping strokes and movement of the joints. This type of massage targets the uppermost layer of muscles and aims to relieve muscle tension.

Your therapist will discuss with you what your main areas of concern are and can target these with specific movements & pressure. We use beautiful ore blended massage oils that come in a wide variety of scents to compliment your treatment; for example “Relaxing Oil” – this calm-inducing massage oil contains geranium, clary sage, ylang ylang, lavender and petitgrain essential oils. Your therapist will ask what type of oil you would like in your consultation.

What is hot stone massage?

The hot stones warm and relax your muscles, allowing deeper pressure to be applied during your massage. Using massage oil and a combination of strokes and techniques, your therapist will massage your neck, back, arms and legs, with and without the stones for the ultimate relaxation.

What is a pregnancy massage?

A pregnancy massage is a specially adapted gentle and soothing massage tailored specifically for the mother-to-be.

Our trained and professional massage therapists will deliver a tailored and unique pregnancy massage using pregnancy safe mother & baby oil. Cushions and bolsters will be supplied to make lying more comfortable. Usually you’ll lie on your side, particularly later in pregnancy when this is more comfortable. This treatment is safe after your first trimester.

What is a full body exfoliation?

A full body exfoliation/ scrub involves getting your body professionally cleaned from the neck down with special exfoliants, oils, and moisturisers. This is an intensely rejuvenating and relaxing experience that polishes your dull and tired skin and reveals the soft new skin that waits underneath. Your therapist will apply the professional exfoliator using long sweeping movements before mitting if off with warm mitts to leave your skin smooth. A wonderful treatment prior or post holiday or if you can’t quite reach it all!

SALON POLICY

We send complimentary email reminders 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you need to cancel or re-arrange your appointment, we require at least 48 hours notice. We kindly ask you to call the salon on 02392 299116 (Social media isn’t manned). Less than 48 hours notice – a 50% charge will be made. Cancellations on the day will be charged at 100% of the treatment value.
